Nonstick lasted only 2 weeks

1 out of 5 stars

Nonstick lasted only 2 weeks
I am unable to flip eggs without them sticking and breaking apart on this Cuisinart pan after less than 2 weeks. But I make fried eggs regularly with ease on a calphalon non-stick pan that is over 2 years old. Very disappointed. I have only used plastic utensils made for non-stick and cared for it delicately. Don't sit on the return. The return window closed yesterday for me and I finally got around to doing it today. Return window is only 30 days. Sadly it is going in the trash and I'm going to have to find a better brand. It looked pretty and that's about it.

We haven't used it many times yet, but so far it seems to be a very good griddle. Bacon cooked up perfectly with a very easy clean-up. When we cooked eggs on it, we tried cooking without any butter or anything and the eggs stuck to the griddle on 1/2 the griddle. We quickly realized our error(s); we used the wrong two burners, one burner was the "High Power" burner and the other was the "Simmer" burner. We thought we had them set evenly, but we were wrong. The eggs from the Simmer burner were fine, the eggs cooked over the High Power burner stuck to the griddle. Our bad, we decided to blame it on the fact that we hadn't had any coffee yet, therefore, we were still groggy. Also, you do need a little something to prevent sticking like butter/margarine(no non-stick spray though, as per instructions).
Even with the eggs stuck to it, the griddle cleaned up perfectly and very easily.
It appears to me that two fully awake, coherent people, can use this product with excellent results!

This griddle was great, for just about one year. The coating is as advertised, non-stick, stuff. After about a year the coating began to flake off. I contacted Cuisinart and, after waiting a week to get back to me, they said that I could send it to them for a fee and they would determine if it would be replaced. I followed the care instructions exactly too. Buy something that will last longer from someone with better customer service.

We bought a new la-de-da gas cook top which came with a custom fit 22 lb (!) cast iron 2-burner griddle. Agh! 22 lbs! And a pain to clean and store. Went looking for something quicker and easier. Found lots of iffy so-so reviews on all types and makes of 2-burner griddles, mostly about the surfaces and warpage. Bought the Cuisinart because it's anodized aluminum and the brand has always worked well for us. Also, I have to admit I bought it primarily for making French toast – which it does wonderfully well. Here are some things to consider for all you other French toasters. Low heat on a gas range is still pretty hot. 375 to 400 degrees (measured with a good infrared thermometer) on ours is still below "Low" and just about simmer – and allows for good working time, about 2 minutes a side. Clean up is a snap, I just wipe it down with a damp paper towel and dry it. So far so good. But be carefully with the heat. Many recipes call for medium heat – which may be much too hot for a surface griddle. Ours gets way over 500 degrees on medium. Outside on the gas grill that's one thing but not on a cook top. A cheap IR thermometer can tell you a lot of things that are good to know. Anyway, so far, so good – and great French toast.

The product description says: "oven-safe up to 500 degrees F." Apparently, this is wrong. The product packaging says: "can be used in the oven up to 400 degrees F."
I am replacing a 7-year-old- pan (no longer available) that I use daily up to 425 degrees F, and selected this one only because it said: "oven-safe up to 500 degrees F."
There were many other pans that were good for 400 degrees F that I would have chosen before this one.
I have not used it yet. It is lightweight and seems of adequate quality. (Check your dimensions. This fits in my oven only sideways, so I cannot use it in tandem with other pans.
We shall see if the surface holds up and whether it warps in the oven.
    Not a great start…

Works nicely if you care for it. I just a product called Barkeepers friend to gently remove buildup. It will scratch, if an unknowing family member is using the wrong spatula. I recommend using a silicon spatula to keep this baby like new. After a month or so of heavy use, the nonstick feature is pretty much dissipated. Fortunately there's coconut oil that helps with that problem. We try to avoid cooking meat products on it (eggs included) since that will certainly leave a nice burnt residue on the pan. We stick to pancakes and quesadillas when using this, otherwise, sticking (and cleaning) will get old super fast. Oh, and the heat distribution is pretty consistent.

I've purchased three newer non-stick items, ditched the old toxic coating ones. This is one of them. One item was a ceramic wok and that item has stood up to every test over better than 6 months. The other two items appear to have similar finishes and both did not fair well. The griddle has permanently marred spots that are no longer non-stick as a result of making gluten free pancakes, not at an excessively high heat. Those tend to brown quickly and that process marred the finish. The griddle doesn't look nice and is definitely not performing well. In this case, I'm going back to the cast iron version because you can rely on that to work if you season it properly. The downside is the weight and many don't have good handles.. but gosh this was a disappointing and somewhat expensive experiment that didn't go my way.

I use this griddle a few times per month and I've owned it for a few months. It works very well on my gas stove. The size is just right for fitting over two burners. It is flat so the pancake batter doesn't slide to the edges and I can fit eight small pancakes on here. The heat distribution is good and once the griddle gets hot initially I turn the burners to medium-low for the rest of the cooking time. I never put it up to high heat. No need for oil, spray or butter for greasing just make sure the batter has oil or butter in it. Very easy to clean (I hand wash it). I had a plug-in griddle before which wasn't easy to clean because of the electrical components. Love that it is a safer and healthier option to Teflon, too, which is just what I was looking for. Great product!

    Perfect for stovetop griddling

This griddle is amazing. Don't have space for a big plug in griddle? Get this beauty, the coating on it stops anything from sticking even without adding butter or oil.
It sits across two stovetop burners and does a great job of distributing heat, though the middle between the burners is slightly cooler.
Handles allow you to just pick it up and put it on a pad on your table for serving. The tray cools down pretty quick but heats up very fast with burners on medium/low.
Take care when making pancakes, they can cook quickly
